Cavern Diver
Build the essential skills required to dive in an overhead environment while remaining within the natural-light zone.
Learn how to use a guideline, manage your gas supply, improve your buoyancy and trim, and perform the fundamental safety procedures required for cavern diving.
Prerequisite: Advanced Open Water Diver or equivalent
Minimum experience: 10 logged dives
Minimum training: 4 dives and 100 minutes in an overhead environment

Introductory To Cave Diver
Progress beyond the natural-light zone and take your first steps into true cave diving.
Also known as Intro to Cave, this course develops essential cave-diving skills including zero-visibility exits, gas sharing, lost-line procedures, light failures and regulator failures.
Prerequisite: Cavern Diver, Limited Mine Diver, Wreck Diver or equivalent
Minimum experience: 30 logged dives
Minimum training: 4 or 6 dives depending on your training pathway, with at least 100 minutes of cave diving

Develop greater autonomy and learn to plan and execute more complex cave dives.
The IANTD Cave Diver course expands your planning and emergency-management skills and introduces more advanced forms of cave navigation, including gaps, traverses and circuits.
Modular pathway: Introductory Cave Diver + 50 logged dives
Minimum training: 8 dives and 400 minutes in cave
Direct IANTD pathway: 100 logged dives, 12 training dives and 500 minutes in cave

Which Cave Diving Course Should I Choose?
If you are new to overhead environments, Cavern Diver is the first step. Divers already certified as Cavern Divers can progress to Introductory Cave Diver, followed by Cave Diver to develop more advanced skills and navigation techniques.
Do I Need Previous Technical Diving Experience?
It depends on the course level. Each program has its own prerequisites. Your certifications and diving experience are reviewed before defining the appropriate training pathway.
Can I Take My Cave Diving Course in Sidemount?
Yes. Sidemount is particularly well suited to cave diving in Mexico. However, the configuration used must be appropriate for your experience and the requirements of the selected course.
How Long Does a Cave Diving Course Take?
The duration depends on the course level, your experience and your progression. Certification is not awarded simply because a planned number of training days has been completed: the required skills must be mastered.
Are the Courses Available in English?
Yes. Courses can be taught in English, French or Spanish.
Can I Complete Several Levels During the Same Trip?
Yes, provided your experience, progression and mastery of the required skills allow it. We can build a personalized multi-day training program.
