Cenote Nohoch Nah Chich is one of the most iconic sites in the Sac Actun system. For many years, it was exclusively reserved for certified cave divers. Since November 2024, a new cavern line has finally allowed experienced recreational divers to discover part of this exceptional underground network.
Its Maya name means “Great House of the Bird”, often translated as “Giant Birdhouse.” This cenote offers a spectacular dive among immense limestone columns, stalactites, tree roots and vast, perfectly preserved chambers. It has quickly become one of the most remarkable new cenote diving experiences near Tulum, Mexico.
